The question of whether immigration is endangering
European society comes mostly down to who is immigrating to which countries,
and what kind of benefits or harms follow the massive movement of population.
The proposition tries to emphasize the fact immigration in Europe is happening
differently from other parts of the world. Immigration happening within the
European Union is a big proportion, and unlike other immigrations, this
immigration is far liberal. Also, a large proportion of these immigrations consists
of poor workers without specific skills or population from poverty, in hope to
find a better life where their situation gains more sympathy from the
government. This brings up an important contention of who should be
prioritized? The citizens who were born from that country? Or people even from
another nation who decided to acquire citizenship? The proposition argues that
the former people have dominance in the decision by showing interest upon the
issue of immigration. Why? Because they are the ones who are paying taxes and
fulfilling the duties required by the government. On the other hand the
opposition argues the benefits of immigration such as cultural diversity and
working efficiency with abundant working force, which is starting to lack in
modern European society.
