The question of whether the West should keep out of the Arab world’s revolutions has to do a lot with international relations and individual nations’ interests. For the proposition, the main argument is that the western world is infusing their influence in the Middle East mostly for the sake of the nation’s own good. The perfect example is the Iraq War, where the American Army sent thousands of troops to Iraq for similar reasons. The thing is that the western countries disguise their actions while the true intentions lie on crude oil and natural resources. A few nations of the western world also used to be advocates of certain dictators in the Middle East which the protesters are demonstrating against, and this duplicity degrades the credibility of these nations once again. On the other hand the opposition believes that the western nations have by far more experience and knowledge of the nature of democracy, and thus they have the responsibility to help the citizens to live in a democratic system. Also the opposition reminisces the past, where the cooperation of the United Nations which the western countries mostly took part led to positive results, such as Libyan freedom from Muammar Qaddafi.
